How We Can Help

Frequently Asked Questions (HDD)
Is it possible to recover data from an HDD that dropped?
Yes, it is possible to recover data from an HDD that suffered a drop, as long as the magnetic platters have not been severely scratched. The impact usually damages the read head, which can be replaced in our Class 100 laboratory to allow data reading. Never try to turn on an HDD that fell, as this can aggravate the damage.
What to do if the HDD is making a clicking sound?
If the HDD is clicking, turn it off immediately. This sound indicates a mechanical failure in the read head. Insisting on turning it on can cause unrecoverable scratches on the magnetic platters where your data is recorded.
Is formatted data recovery guaranteed?
Formatted data recovery has a high success rate, as long as new data has not been written over (overwritten). If you accidentally formatted your HDD, stop using it immediately to preserve the original files.
